What is Reputation & Thanks

Post  Guest on Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:55 am

Reputation is a measure of a forum member's popularity (or notoriety). It defaults to 10 and goes up or down from there.

By clicking on the or on every post, you can up or down the member's Reputation. See helpful posts? Reward the person by up'ing his Reputation. Whereas spammers deserves the negative Reputation zap.

But to have the power to alter Reputation, you must have a minimum of 10 Reputation. Which means abusers can't just sign up new accounts to zap other forumers.

Begging for Reputation is often frowned upon. It might earn you negative Reputation zaps instead for begging. So beggars, beware!

The Thanks button is used when you see an extremely helpful post, you click on and the author of the post you thanked will get a certain about of reputation points.

Remember each section of the forum has a different number of points a person can award to a member.
